Virus Removal Techniques

Special Case: Remove Win32 Virus

Initial Symptoms:

• Computer slow downs
• The removable drive icon becomes that of a folder
• The autorun.inf files regenerates no matter how much they are deleted
• The process explorer does not show any instances of folder virus

CURE

• Disable the system restore on all the drives
• Boot the computer in safe mode. (Press F8 while booting to be able to choose this option Safe Boot)
• Delete the location of virus usually C:\RECYCLER\[S-.......]\win32.exe as shown above in the snapshot.
